Baseball Recap: Chaffee Comes Up Short

Chaffee was the 15-7 winner over Caruthersville when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Red Devils fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 5-4 on Wednesday. The Red Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Chaffee's loss dropped their record down to 15-2. As for Caruthersville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-9.

Chaffee and Caruthersville should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings. The Red Devils will challenge Cooter at 4:30 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (49 vs. 217). The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Chaffee 1.8, the Wildcats 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Caruthersville (ranked 237th) will meet Hayti (ranked 496th) at 4:30 p.m. on the 8th.
