Football Recap: San Bernardino Cardinals vs. Cathedral City Lions
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Fontana, San Bernardino was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with a 28-20 win over the Cathedral City Lions.
Angel Cortes-Vazquez was nothing short of spectacular: he picked up 135 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. He got the majority of those yards when he pulled down a pass and and took off for a gain of95 yards.
The victory got San Bernardino back to even at 1-1. As for Cathedral City, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. San Bernardino will host Arroyo Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cathedral City, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Canyon Springs at 7:00 p.m. on September 12th.
