Soccer Recap: Nacogdoches Find Success

Nacogdoches won the last time they faced Pine Tree and things went their way on Saturday too. The Nacogdoches Dragons narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Pine Tree Pirates 2-1. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but the Dragons were the better team in the second half.

Christian Padilla and Lionel Castro scored both of Nacogdoches' goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Nacogdoches' victory bumped their record up to 4-0-1. As for Pine Tree, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nacogdoches will head out to challenge Mt. Pleasant at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Nacogdoches' last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Pine Tree, they are taking a road trip to square off against Lebanon Trail at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
