Basketball Recap: Dayton Christian WARRIORS vs. Miami Valley Rams
After flying high against the Middletown Christian Eagles last Friday, the Dayton Christian WARRIORS came back down to earth. Dayton Christian took a 61-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rams on Saturday. Dayton Christian was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rams apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Miami Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jazzy Arogun, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Barnard, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 15 rebounds.
Dayton Christian now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Miami Valley, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 11-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dayton Christian and the Pirates will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Ohio (Riverside is ranked 583rd, while the WARRIORS are ranked 606th). As for Miami Valley, they will head out on the road to challenge the Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Emmanuel Christian Academy is on a five-game streak of home wins, the Rams a four-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
