Volleyball Recap: Newton Comes Up Short

Newton was the 3-1 winner over Scott Central when they last played one another back in September of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Tigers took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rebels on Thursday. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Newton's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Scott Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Newton will square off against rival Lake at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Scott Central is set to challenge their familiar foe Pelahatchie at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
