Softball Recap: Charlotte Latin Wins Going Away Against Greater Cabarrus S

Charlotte Latin never let their opponents score on Monday. They blew past the Greater Cabarrus S Stallions 15-0. The Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by 12 runs or more this season.

Ainsley Sullivan made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Caroline Coble and Lila McConnell did most of the damage at the plate: Coble scored three runs while going 4-for-4, while McConnell went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI and two runs. Those four hits gave Coble a new career-high. Addie Speece was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-2.

Charlotte Latin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 14 hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Charlotte Latin's record now sits at 4-0. As for Greater Cabarrus S, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, Charlotte Latin will face off against Wesleyan Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Greater Cabarrus S, they will take on Sugar Creek Charter at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
