Softball Recap: East Limestone Comes Up Short

East Limestone lost against Brewer back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Indians fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 8-7.

Kailey Matthews and Miami Wilcox did some serious damage despite the final result: Matthews scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Wilcox scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Harley Johnson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

East Limestone's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 15-8. As for Brewer, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 13-9-1.

Looking ahead, East Limestone will challenge Ardmore at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Brewer, they will take on Danville at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. The Hawks' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Patriots' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
