Baseball Game Preview: Hunter Wolverines vs. Mountain View Bruins

Hunter is 0-5 against Mountain View since March of 2021 but things could change on Wednesday. The Hunter Wolverines will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mountain View Bruins at 3:30 p.m. Hunter has given up an average of 19.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Hunter is headed into Wednesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their ninth straight game dating back to last season on Monday. They came up short against Timpview, falling 17-0.

Meanwhile, Mountain View entered their tilt with Summit Academy on Monday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Bears 18-5. The Bruins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by 12 runs or more this season.

Michael Oakey looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Jack Akin was incredible, firing off two home runs, eight RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. Those eight RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Imes, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 5-for-5.

Mountain View was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Mountain View now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Hunter, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.
