Baseball Recap: Eagle Rock Takes a Loss

Eagle Rock dropped down to 6-6 on Wednesday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Franklin Panthers, falling 13-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Eagles have suffered since March 5th.

Grayson Sugi and Ty Perlas stepped up to the plate in a big way. Sugi got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double, while Perlas went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and three RBI. Sugi has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played.

As for Franklin, the win got them back to even at 4-4. That looming 13-4 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.

On Franklin's side, the team relied heavily on Jimmy Gonzalez, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with six stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those three runs gave Gonzalez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Hoechst, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Franklin beat Eagle Rock by a score of 11-0 on Friday.
