Mountain View is on a three-game streak of home losses, and San Elizario a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Mountain View Lobos will host the San Elizario Eagles at 7:00 p.m. San Elizario took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Mountain View, who comes in off a win.
Having struggled with seven losses in a row, Mountain View turned things around against Bowie on Friday. They claimed a resounding 55-28 victory over the Bears. The Lobos' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Mountain View got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ethan Nevarez out in front who rushed for 149 yards and three TDs on only seven carries. Another receiver making a difference was Ruben Castro, who picked up 191 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Mountain View was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 291 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Meanwhile, San Elizario lost to Bowie at home by a 27-12 margin last Friday. The Eagles gained 114 more yards on the day, but it was the Bears that made the best use of them.
Mountain View will have to contain Nathan Rios as he made an impact in San Elizario's last game. He rushed for 143 yards and one touchdown while picking up 8.4 yards per carry.
San Elizario's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Mountain View, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 2-7.
Mountain View was able to grind out a solid win over San Elizario in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, winning 49-42. Will the Lobos repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
