Soccer Recap: Rocky River Comes Up Short

Rocky River was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They lost 9-0 to the Butler Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, Rocky River can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 417th, while Butler are ranked 124th).

Rocky River's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9-2. As for Butler, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-4-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rocky River will welcome Providence at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Providence will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Rocky River surely won't give up without a fight. As for Butler, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Charlotte Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Butler have won five straight at home, while Charlotte Catholic won six straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
