League recap: Kanab scores huge upset over South Sevier

The biggest upset of the week belonged to South Sevier, who took down 72nd ranked South Sevier, 24-23.

Kanab was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from seventh to fourth in 2A - South. The Cowboys defeated the Rams 24-23 earlier in the week.

Enterprise's dynamic duo of Jake Jones and Dallin Holt proved tough for Beaver to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Jones threw for 70 yards and one touchdown and Holt had 48 yards receiving. Isaac Wallin helped Enterprise's passing attack out by catching one ball for 34 yards.

Koi Cook was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 10 carries, he ran for 235 yards as Grand County fell to the Beavers. Teammate Jacob Francis added to the ground attack by rushing for 99 yards.

Paxton Edwards made the biggest impact on defense this week as Beaver topped Enterprise. The junior pulled down one interception and grabbed one sack.

Grand County's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Red Devils feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Francis has thrown for 617 yards and five touchdowns this season, while Wesley Rodda has seven catches for 240 yards. Francis also leads the league in rushing with 556 yards.

Two of the top units in 2A - South will face off this week when Steve Hutchings's team takes on Parowan. The Beavers' offense has racked up 210 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while the Rams have allowed only 185 on the year.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when San Juan takes on Kanab. The Broncos are in first place, while Bucky Orton's team is in fourth place.

San Juan extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Kirtland Central, 22-0. The victory was the seventh in a row for Monty Lee's team.
