Basketball Recap: Owen Plum Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Summerfield

Britton Deerfield proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 21) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Summerfield Bulldogs, sneaking past 55-53. The win was all the more spectacular given the Patriots' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 458th in Michigan, while the Bulldogs are ranked 124th in Michigan).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Britton Deerfield to victory, but perhaps none more so than Owen Plum, who went 6-for-15 en route to 18 points. Plum's big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Alex Anspach, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 11 boards.

Britton Deerfield pushed their record up to 11-12 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.0 points over those games. As for Summerfield, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 21-2.

As of now, neither Britton Deerfield nor Summerfield have any future games scheduled.
