Softball Recap: St. Charles East Comes Up Short

St. Charles East lost against Huntley back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Fighting Saints fell just short of the Red Raiders by a score of 7-6.

Makayla Van Dinther spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and six unearned) runs on ten hits.

On the hitting side, Hayden Sujack was cooking despite her team's loss, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-3. Addison Wolf was another key player, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

St. Charles East's defeat dropped their record down to 12-12. As for Huntley, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 16-8.

Coming up, St. Charles East will face off against Kaneland at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Huntley, they will welcome Prairie Ridge at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
