Preview: Parkdale Panthers vs. Eleanor Roosevelt Raiders
Parkdale is 0-5 against Eleanor Roosevelt since October of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Parkdale Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Eleanor Roosevelt Raiders at 12:00 p.m. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Parkdale has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Eleanor Roosevelt will arrive with seven straight victories.
Parkdale fell victim to Suitland's stalwart defense on Saturday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were the victim of a rough 20-0 defeat at the hands of the Rams.
Meanwhile, Eleanor Roosevelt beat Bowie 24-14 on Friday. 24 seems to be a good number for Eleanor Roosevelt as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Eleanor Roosevelt's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Donte Howard led the charge by rushing for 123 yards and a touchdown. Cole Johnson also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Suitland's win bumped their season record to 7-2 while Parkdale's defeat dropped theirs to 3-6.
Parkdale was taken down by Eleanor Roosevelt 43-0 in their previous matchup back in September of 2022. Thankfully for Parkdale, Raquane Matthews (who rushed for 231 yards and four touchdowns on only 12 carries, and also caught a touchdown) won't be suiting up this time.
