Meridian has gone 9-1 against Blaine recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Trojans will head out on the road to challenge the Borderites at 7:00 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Meridian fell victim to Mount Vernon and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 1-0. Meridian have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Blaine also failed to score in their most recent game. They came up short against Sedro-Woolley on Tuesday, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, Blaine can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while Sedro-Woolley are ranked 68th).

Meridian's loss dropped their record down to 1-4-2. As for Blaine, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Meridian came out on top in a nail-biter against Blaine in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
