The Calvary Baptist Academy Cavaliers are taking a road trip to challenge the Ouachita Parish Lions at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Calvary Baptist Academy is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
Calvary Baptist Academy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Louisiana's top teams: Jena, who was ranked ninth at the time (Calvary Baptist Academy was ranked first). Calvary Baptist Academy blew past Jena 7-0 on Saturday. The Cavaliers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Kynzee Anderson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs while going 2-for-2. That's the most home runs she has posted since back in February.
In other batting news, Baylor Bockhaus was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Carlie Guile, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.
Calvary Baptist Academy lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now launched at least three home runs in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Ouachita Parish suffered their closest defeat since February 18th on Friday. They fell just short of D'Arbonne Woods by a score of 8-6. The Lions have struggled against D'Arbonne Woods recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.
Madisyn Lenard was cooking despite her team's loss, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Madison, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.
Calvary Baptist Academy's win was their 25th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 24-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Ouachita Parish, their loss dropped their record down to 14-7.
Calvary Baptist Academy took their win against Ouachita Parish in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 13-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for Calvary Baptist Academy since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
