Basketball Recap: Neptune Gets the Win

While Neptune didn't have the best season last year (they finished 1-20), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Union City Soaring Eagles 41-39. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Scarlet Fliers also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2019.

The victory made it two in a row for Neptune and bumps their season record up to 4-1. As for Union City, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Neptune will square off against Long Branch at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Union City, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on St. Peter's Prep at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
