Preview: Mott Corsairs vs. Carlson Marauders
The Mott Corsairs will head out on the road to face off against the Carlson Marauders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Mott sitting on three straight victories and Carlson on ten.
Mott extended their postseason success on Friday against Seaholm. They walked away with a 34-21 victory over the Maples.
It was another big night for Kalieb Osborne, who rushed for 118 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 263 yards and two touchdowns while completing 78.9% of his passes. Mott also got help from Ayden Bowe who showed off his sure hands for 113 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Carlson beat Dexter 27-23 on Friday.
Carlson found their leader in underclassman Izaiah Wright, who rushed for 178 yards and two touchdowns. Wright has been hot recently, having posted 100 or more rushing yards the last nine times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Joe Krolak, who rushed for 82 yards.
Mott's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 38.8 points per game. As for Carlson, their win bumped their record up to 10-1.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's game: Mott has been excellent in the air this season, having averaged 304.9 passing yards per game.
