            Baseball Recap: Lockport Porters vs. Sandburg Eagles        
        
		
        
        
            Lockport suffered their closest  defeat since March 28, 2024 on Monday. They fell just short of the Sandburg Eagles by a score of  7-5. The Porters were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won  7-3.
Lockport got a good showing from  Nate Gorecki, who   pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off   four  hits. Gorecki has been consistent  recently: he hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run any time he's  pitched this season.
 At the plate,  Adam Kozak made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  went 2-for-3 with one  triple, two  RBI,  and one  run.  David Kundrat also deserves some recognition as  he  hit his first  triple of the season.

The  loss snapped Lockport's winning streak at three games  and leaves them with a 9-4 record. As for Sandburg, they moved to 8-4 with that  victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lockport will take on Brother Rice in a tournament  on Wednesday. As for Sandburg, they will venture away from home to  face off against Thornton Fractional South  at 4:30  p.m.  on Wednesday.
