Basketball Recap: Winside Wildcats vs. Homer Knights
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Wynot, Winside was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top against the Homer Knights by a score of 57-49. For the Wildcats, this counts as revenge for the 46-35 win the Knights walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February.
Winside found their leader in sophomore Jahiem Hamik, who almost dropped a double-double with 27 points and nine steals. Matthew Gubbels was another key player, putting up nine points and eight rebounds.
Despite the loss, Homer still got an impressive performance from Jessup Snowball, who posted 23 points. With that strong performance, Snowball is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. Gavin Albrecht also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.
