St. Anthony lost against St. Francis Prep back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Friars fell just short of the Terriers by a score of 3-1. The Friars' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Michael Clare was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. He also put up three walks, which were his first of the season.

At the plate, Brady DiMitrio made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

St. Anthony's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for St. Francis Prep, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Anthony's will host Archbishop Molloy at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Friars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Stanners have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season. As for St. Francis Prep, they will welcome Holy Trinity at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
