Basketball Recap: Oak Grove Comes Up Short

Oak Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were beaten by the Pleasant Grove Spartans 82-35. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-18.

Kyler Pollistrini and Seth Wooten certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Pollistrini posted 14 points, while Wooten earned nine points.

Pleasant Grove's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lealon Hunter, who put up 13 points. The dominant performance gave Hunter a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Amaury Webster, who scored ten points.

Oak Grove's loss dropped their record down to 2-22-1. As for Pleasant Grove, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-13-1.

Oak Grove has already played their next game, a 49-47 victory against Curry on the 28th. As for Pleasant Grove, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 59-56 defeat against Gardendale on the 28th.
