Recap: Metter Tigers vs. Screven County Gamecocks
The Metter Tigers can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They snuck past Screven County with a 59-54 victory. That's another feather in the cap for Metter, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Screven County's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kashard Prescott, who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rodney Beckwith, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Metter's win bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Screven County, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-17.
Metter won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Southeast Bulloch at 6:30 p.m. on February 3rd. As for Screven County, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Jefferson County at 7:30 p.m. on February 3rd. Hopefully Screven County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday.
