Recap: Miller County Pirates vs. Thomasville Bulldogs
The Miller County Pirates's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 71-56 to Thomasville. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Several Pirates players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Andrew Keown, who scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden McCray, who scored 13 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Thomasville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Xavier Burkes jr., who dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds. Burkes jr. set a new season high mark in assists with seven. Messiah Wilson was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Miller County bumped their record down to 4-7 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Thomasville, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-4.
