Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Highline). They breezed by the Tyee Titans to the tune of 74-17 on Saturday. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 57-8.
Highline got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Corey Crosby out in front who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 boards. The dominant performance also gave Crosby a new career-high in blocks (six). Another player making a difference was Zayne Cola, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds.
Highline smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 39 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Tyee's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Devon Hilde, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 13 points, and Malick Yusufu, who posted two points in addition to five assists and three steals. Yusufu has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played.
Highline's win bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Tyee, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-14.
Highline wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 67-54 defeat against Lindbergh on the 28th. Tyee has also already played their next game, a 94-28 loss against Foster on the 28th.
