Basketball Recap: Hawthorne Valley Picks Up Sixth Straight Win on the Road

Hawthorne Valley had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They came out on top against the Schalmont Sabres by a score of 55-42.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hawthorne Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Justin Gamiello, who posted 21 points. Gamiello continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Oliver Towe was another key player, putting up 15 points.

Hawthorne Valley pushed their record up to 13-6 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.8 points over those games. As for Schalmont, they are on a 17-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-19.

Coming up, Hawthorne Valley won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Taconic Hills at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Schalmont does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
