Vista Murrieta entered their tilt with Sage Creek on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They rang in the new year with a 56-45 win over the Sage Creek Bobcats. The 56-point effort marked the Broncos' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Despite the loss, Sage Creek still got an impressive performance from Elijah Stephens, who posted 18 points and seven boards. Stephens' afternoon made it 28 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Vaughn Young, who earned nine points.

Vista Murrieta's victory bumped their record up to 14-3. As for Sage Creek, they moved to 8-7 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
