Baseball Recap: North Baltimore Comes Up Short

North Baltimore dropped down to 8-10 on Saturday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Hilltop Cadets, falling 15-2. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Tigers couldn't push the score so high this time.

North Baltimore saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Drew Meggit, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

As for Hilltop, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-7. The result was nothing new for the Cadets, who have now won seven matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

On Hilltop's side, Cameron Shimp made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Shimp was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Camryn Nichols was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brennan Dempsey, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and one double.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Baltimore will take on McComb at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Hilltop, they will challenge Cardinal Stritch at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
