Softball Recap: T.R. Miller Extends Home Winning Streak to Three

After low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, T.R. Miller brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. They never let Monroe County get on the board and left with a 17-0 victory on Monday. Considering T.R. Miller has won four matchups by more than 14 runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Kylie Walton made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, Meg Fountain was incredible, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 2-for-2. Those home runs were her first of the season. Kate Rambach was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two triples, four RBI, and one run.

T.R. Miller lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April of 2024.

T.R. Miller's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for Monroe County, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. T.R. Miller will head out to take on Jay at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Jay: 3.5, T.R. Miller: 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Monroe County, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Monroe County Tigers challenge Hillcrest Jaguars at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
