Football Game Preview: Reedley Pirates vs. Hanford West Huskies

Reedley is a perfect 4-0 against Hanford West since August of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Pirates will square off against the Huskies at 7:30 p.m. Reedley will be strutting in after a victory while Hanford West will be coming in after a defeat.

Reedley gave up the first points on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They snuck past Mt. Whitney with a 20-16 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Pirates.

Will Bacon had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 75 yards and two scores, while also throwing for 123 yards and one touchdown. Kyle Bacon also helped out with an impressive 80 receiving yards.

Reedley didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Mt. Whitney to a completion percentage of just 37.5%. The Pirates weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 64%.

Meanwhile, Hanford West fell victim to Monache and their airtight defense last Friday. They were outmatched by the Marauders and fell 34-0.

Hanford West's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Reedley, their record is now 4-1.

Everything came up roses for Reedley against Hanford West in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 28-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pirates since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
