Recap: Killingly Redmen vs. Fitch Falcons
After a string of three wins, The Killingly Redmen's's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 37-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fitch. Killingly was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Fitch apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Despite the loss, Killingly still got an impressive performance from Soren Rief, who rushed for 201 yards and two touchdowns. Rief is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Allard, who rushed for 57 yards and a touchdown.
Killingly's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Fitch, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 5-1.
Killingly will challenge East Lyme at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Fitch, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Hillhouse at 6:00 p.m.
