Basketball Recap: South Rowan Find Success

Concord came into Friday's match looking for another win against South Rowan, but Danica Krieg wouldn't allow it. The South Rowan Raiders snuck past the Concord Spiders with a 42-37 win on Friday thanks in part to Krieg, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. That's the most boards she has posted since back in February of 2024.

Another player making a difference was Mckenzie Menius, who posted six points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

Despite the loss, Concord still got an impressive performance from Kaylin Williams, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 boards. Alani Smith-Rogers was another key player, putting up nine points and six rebounds.

South Rowan's victory bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Concord, they dropped their record down to 3-13 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

South Rowan has already played their next contest, a 40-34 loss against Northwest Cabarrus on the 28th. As for Concord, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 63-36 defeat against Lake Norman Charter on the 28th.
