Softball Recap: Windthorst Takes a Loss

Windthorst was the 6-4 winner over Decatur when they last played one another back in March of 2018, but their luck changed this time around. The Windthorst Trojans fell just short of the Decatur Eagles by a score of 7-5 on Thursday. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kamdyn Neal was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in hits. Karissa Fillingim was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Windthorst's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Decatur, their win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-2.

Coming up, Windthorst will square off against Iowa Park at 11:45 a.m. on Friday. Iowa Park will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Windthorst surely won't give up without a fight. As for Decatur, they will challenge City View at 10:00 a.m. on Friday.
