Soccer Game Preview: Sylvania vs. Tanner

The Sylvania Rams will take on the Tanner Rattlers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Tanner will be up against a hot Sylvania team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. Everything went the Rams' way against Whitesburg Christian Academy on Tuesday as they made off with a 6-1 victory.

Huntsville typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Tanner proved too difficult a challenge. They put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 5-2 win. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 4-1.

Tanner hit Huntsville with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Cade Dorning (2), Ivan Lagunas, Randy Cortes, and Rey Leon.

Tanner is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-5-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 70 goals over those 16 contests. As for Sylvania, their win bumped their record up to 9-5.

Sylvania skirted past Tanner 7-6 in their previous meeting back in March of 2018. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
