Seguin posted their closest victory since February 13th on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Mesquite Skeeters, sneaking past 61-58. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cougars.

Seguin has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 9-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.4 points per game. As for Mesquite, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Seguin will take on Centennial at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Mesquite, they will square off against Skyline at 5:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Mesquite knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight contests -- so hopefully Skyline likes a good challenge.
