Basketball Recap: Jeremiah Robertson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Jefferson-Morgan over Waynesburg Central

Jefferson-Morgan was the 63-53 winner over Waynesburg Central when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Jefferson-Morgan Rockets took a 59-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Waynesburg Central Raiders.

Jefferson-Morgan lost on Tuesday despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jeremiah Robertson, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of John Woodward, who posted ten points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals.

Even though they lost, Jefferson-Morgan smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 15 consecutive matchups.

Jefferson-Morgan's defeat dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Waynesburg Central, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-9.

Jefferson-Morgan will be playing at home against Bethlehem Center at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Waynesburg Central, they will head out to take on Brownsville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
