Soccer Recap: Smyrna Comes Up Short

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Smyrna and Lebanon had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Blue Devils by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Lebanon this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 1-0 on April 7th.

Smyrna's goal came courtesy of Angel Lopez-Ortega, who's now up to ten this season.

Smyrna's defeat dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Lebanon, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-2-1.

Smyrna didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 4-0 loss against Page on the 28th. As for Lebanon, they have also already played their next match, a 2-1 victory against Cookeville on the 28th.
