            Basketball Recap: Omaha South Packers vs. Omaha Central Eagles        
        
		
        
        
            Omaha South played a tough  match  on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a  blow against the Omaha Central Eagles, falling  72-23. The  defeat   continues a  trend for the Packers in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost five in a row.
 Despite the  loss, Omaha South saw an underclassman step up: sophomore  Aubrey Harper  posted 15  points and six  boards. That was a full 65.2% of Omaha South's points, marking the eighth time in a row she's   had  more than a third of the team's points.  Vivian Hodoly also deserves some recognition as  she  posted her first  block of the season.
 Omaha Central's win  was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from   Amiyja Hughes, who  went 5 of 11  on her way to 11 points and four  steals. What's more,  Hughes also racked up three  assists, the most she's  had since back in February of 2024.  Noelle Tcheuhchoua was another key player,  dropping  a double-double on 11  points and ten  rebounds.
Omaha South's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Omaha Central,  the  win made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 5-5.
 Omaha South has already played their next game,  a  68-33  loss against Burke on the 10th. As for Omaha Central, they also  didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  contest,  a  51-42  defeat against Millard West on the 10th.
