After flying high against Ferris  on Friday, Godley came back down to earth. The Godley Wildcats fell just short of the Glen Rose Tigers by a score of  9-7 on Saturday. The Wildcats' loss signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.
 Godley saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Braxton Spohn, who  went 2-for-4 with one  double and one  RBI.  Jaydon Spurlock also deserves some recognition as  he  hit his first  double of the season.
Godley's defeat dropped their record down to 18-3-1. As for Glen Rose, they pushed their record up to 9-6 with the  victory, which was their third straight  at home.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Godley will head out to  face off against Ferris  at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Godley's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6  runs per game  this season, so Ferris' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Glen Rose, they are taking a road trip to  take on Gatesville  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.
