Basketball Game Preview: Clarion-Limestone Lions vs. Cameron County Raiders

The Clarion-Limestone Lions will challenge the Cameron County Raiders on Saturday. Clarion-Limestone will be strutting in after a win while Cameron County will be coming in after a loss.

Clarion-Limestone took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They blew past Union 70-50. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 250th, while the Knights/Damsels are ranked 615th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Cameron County unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 45-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of Otto-Eldred. The game marked the Raiders' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Clarion-Limestone's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-5. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.8 points per game. As for Cameron County, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-2.

Clarion-Limestone and Cameron County were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in February of 2020, but Clarion-Limestone came up empty-handed after a 47-46 loss. Can Clarion-Limestone avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
