Baseball Recap: Stark County Starts off Right with Win over Knoxville

Stark County had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with an 8-4 win over the Knoxville Blue Bullets on Monday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Rebels also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

Kaedon Steelman was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Steelman was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-4.

In other pitching news, Connor Down looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

Back at the plate, Wyatt Snider and Blair Daum did most of the damage at the plate: Snider went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Daum scored two runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those two runs gave Daum a new career-high. Connor Daum was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while going 1-for-3.

Stark County will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Prophetstown at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Knoxville, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will square off against Monmouth-Roseville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
