Recap: Belton-Honea Path Bears vs. Powdersville Patriots

The Belton-Honea Path Bears's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell just short of Powdersville by a score of 45-42. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Belton-Honea Path in their matchups with Powdersville: they've now lost five in a row.

Powdersville got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Raegan Bryant out in front who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and two steals. That's the first time this season that Bryant pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Makayla Assemian, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds and four blocks.

Belton-Honea Path has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. As for Powdersville, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-10.

Belton-Honea Path will head out on the road to take on Palmetto at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Palmetto is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. Powdersville will take on Fountain Inn at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Fountain Inn focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Tuesday.
