Baseball Game Preview: Creekside Knights vs. Lincoln Trojans

Creekside is 0-3 against Lincoln since March of 2019 but things could change on Wednesday. The Creekside Knights will host the Lincoln Trojans at 6:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Creekside: 3.5, Lincoln: 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Creekside took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. Everything went their way against Hillgrove as Creekside made off with a 9-1 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Knights have posted since April 8, 2024.

Matthew Bysheim and Gavin Duprey dominated on the mound. Bysheim tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit, while Duprey pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. That's the fewest hits Bysheim has allowed since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, Creekside let Connor Balazic and Tavern Blansit run wild. Balazic went 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Blansit got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI Blansit has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Bysheim, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Lincoln entered their game against Wakulla on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Lincoln fell 6-3 to Wakulla. The matchup marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Creekside's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs over those games. As for Lincoln, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.
