Recap: North Marion Huskies vs. Roane County Raiders
On Friday, the North Marion Huskies faced the Roane County Raiders in a battle between two of the state's top teams. North Marion put the hurt on Roane County with a sharp 47-26 win. North Marion might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won six games by 21 points or more this season.
Despite the loss, Roane County still got an impressive performance from Lane Watson, who picked up 135 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Watson was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 65 yards.
The victory (which was North Marion's fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-1. As for Roane County, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-1.
North Marion will take on Liberty at TBD on Friday. Liberty is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Roane County, they will head out on the road to face off against Oak Glen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Oak Glen: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while Roane County has snatched up eight consecutive wins on the road dating back to last season.
