Soccer Game Preview: Pompano Beach vs. North Broward Prep

Pompano Beach hasn't had much luck against North Broward Prep recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Pompano Beach Golden Tornadoes will take on the North Broward Prep Eagles at 5:00 p.m. Pompano Beach is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.5 goals per game this season.

Pompano Beach gave up the first goal on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Fort Lauderdale 3-2. The win was familiar territory for the Golden Tornadoes who have now won three contests in a row.

Chloe Measel and Raegan Van Buskirk scored all three of Pompano Beach's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 25 goals.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, North Broward Prep's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. Neither they nor Oxbridge Academy could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw. The result (or lack thereof) was the first time the Eagles have been dealt a draw since back in November of 2024.

Pompano Beach's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-3-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those three matchups. North Broward Prep's draw makes their record 8-2-2 this season.

Pompano Beach suffered a grim 4-1 defeat to North Broward Prep in their previous meeting back in January of 2022. Can Pompano Beach avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
