Volleyball Recap: Elkins' Win Ends Three-Game Losing Streak at Home

The Elkins Tigers beat the Pocahontas County Warriors 2-0 on Saturday.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Elkins was: they took both sets by at least 16 points. The final score came out to 25-9, 25-8.

Madison Zirkle paced Elkins' offense, picking up six kills. Zirkle got some help from Hannah Currence and her nine assists. Lilyana Anderson controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Elkins' win ended a three-match drought at home and bumped them up to 8-11-1. As for Pocahontas County, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

Coincidentally, Elkins and Pocahontas County will both be playing Tucker County the next time they take the court. The Tigers will host the Mountain Lions at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Warriors will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
