Soccer Recap: North Comes Up Short

North was the 2-0 winner over Derby when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The RedHawks fell 2-0 to the Panthers on Thursday. While losing is never fun, North can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas soccer rankings (they are ranked 48th, while Derby are ranked sixth).

North's loss dropped their record down to 6-6-2. As for Derby, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-1.

Looking ahead, North is taking a road trip to challenge East on Tuesday. As for Derby, they will take on Maize South on Monday. Maize South will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Derby surely won't give up without a fight.
