Volleyball Recap: Benet Academy's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Benet Academy won the last time they faced Naperville North and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Redwings had just enough and edged out the Huskies 2-1. The victory was familiar territory for the Redwings, who have now won six games in a row.

Benet Academy had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-16, 25-23.

Reed Hefley paced Benet Academy's offense, picking up 12 kills. Hefley got some help from Jacob Olejnik and his 16 assists. Finally, Aris Maurukas and Shane Walsh kept the team grounded on defense, each having blocked two attacks.

Benet Academy's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Naperville North, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Benet Academy will welcome Oswego at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Redwings surely won't give up without a fight. After both having extra time off, Naperville North and Naperville Central will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 5:30 p.m. on the 24th.
