Softball Recap: River Ridge Royal Knights vs. Countryside Cougars

In what's become a running theme this season, River Ridge gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. They blew past the Countryside Cougars 11-1. The win was just what River Ridge needed coming off of a 7-1 loss in their prior game.

Lillian Jackson spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive pitching appearances.

At the plate, River Ridge let Emma Bell and Jacqleen Golden loose on the outfield. Bell scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances, while Golden went 2-for-5 with a home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Mackenzie Vozdecky, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

On Countryside's side, they saw one different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kiara Mata, who went 2-for-3 with an RBI.
